Trevor Fitzgibbon

Trevor Fitzgibbon is an American communications strategist.  He has represented several high-profile clients including Julian Assange and WikiLeaks, Chelsea Manning, the governments of Venezuela and Ecuador and efforts to support several other whistleblowers including Edward Snowden.

Career of Trevor Fitzgibbon


Trevor Fitzgibbon founded and ran the communications firm, Fitzgibbon Media from 2009 to 2015 that had staff and offices in London, New York City, Washington, DC and San Francisco.

He started his career as an activist working to protect the environment.


Trevor Fitzgibbon is a former PR manager for both Wikileaks and Assange. Fitzgibbon’s other clients have included Chelsea Manning, The Guardian, The Intercept and the government of Venezuela, in addition to pro-bono efforts for countless whistleblowers. He also helped set up Chelsea Manning’s Twitter account while she was imprisoned. Manning would often dictate tweets through Fitzgibbon Media staff over the phone.

No civil lawsuits were ever filed against Trevor Fitzgibbon or the firm Fitzgibbon Media.

In December of 2015, while serving as the primary US communications strategist for WikiLeaks during the Democratic Primary, Fitzgibbon Media was closed because of allegations of sexual harassment made against Trevor Fitzgibbon. On April 20, 2017, US Attorney Channing D. Phillips closed all investigations of Fitzgibbon and declined to pursue any actions against him.  No civil lawsuits were ever filed against him or the firm.  However, an investigation has been launched against his core accuser for filing a false police report.

Upon the US Attorney’s decision not to pursue any action against Fitzgibbon he decided to come back immediately to operations and currently represents several clients.
